The Pogues have
re-released their most famous single " Fairytale of New York ". The song, originally released in 1987 had
reached number two in the charts. This Christmas "The Pogues", led by charismatic frontman Shane MacGowan will release the
original recording.
The Pogues having played their 10 Christmas concerts to delighted fans with dates in Cardiff,Glasgow,Newcastle
Manchester and Birmingham.
They followed on these gigs with a flourish and opened the first of 3 nights in Brixton to ecstatic fans.
The Pogues cracking first night,followed by a second that cranked it up another notch, they then followed with another rip
roaring concert on their third nights residency at the London Landmark that left a delighted audience.

They rocked the place as only THE POGUES can do. The final gig, a homecoming to Dublin was on par with previous dates to the
delight of all and rounded off a resoundingly successfull Christmas Tour.

The release
of
"Fairytale of New York"

December 19.
It entered the UK Charts on Christmas Day at No#3
and The Irish Charts at No#4.
There Will be a new Top 40 chart on Christmas Day.The

The BBC have produced a documentary "The Story of Fairytale of New York" which aired on December 19, 21:00 on BBC3.
Repeat showings were on December 22, 23:30 and December 25, 00:40 on BBC3.
This documentary, produced in late 2005, features interviews from all of The Pogues involved in the recording, Matt Dillon
(featured in the music video), Jean MacColl (Kirsty's mother), Steve Lillywhite (the song's producer and Kirsty's husband),
Nick Cave, Jools Holland, and many more.

" THE POGUES " have announced a "NINE" Gig Tour of the Eastern U.S.A.
3 Additional Dates have been added including March 9th,15th & 19th

After shooting a scene with Johnny Depp as a singing bard in "The Libertine" and with his Christmas tour with "The
Pogues" successfully completed Shane has been all go at the moment.

Shane has recently been inducted to the "Wall of Fame" alongside eleven other Irish music icons, Phil Lynott, Rory
Gallagher,Luke Kelly and many more.
Ireland's world renowned musical talent is being acknowledged and celebrated in a permanent outdoor photographic exhibition,
situated in Dublin's Temple Bar.
There are 11 smaller windows (approx. 6ft sq.) and one large window (approx. 20ft sq.). Each window acts as a frame for
a photo of a musical act. The photos are backlit from dusk every evening.

The Pogues just blew the roof off the Brixton Academy in the their secong gig on Dec 21st. Absolutely Brilliant, The Band
played flawlessly and Shane hit a form that only Shane can hit !!!. Thought I had seeen all the great POGUE'S shows. HA !!

Shane MacGowan "Goes to Rehab"
Retrobates Shane MacGowan & BP Fallon checked into Rehab on Dec 23rd at "The Voodoo Lounge" for the after
show party that discarded time and refused to let the night end.
Thanks to Shane & BP for spinning some classics. And To Eddie and Dermot Doran who provided the perfect setting.
